Description
The Church of the Archangel Michael now houses the Icon Museum which displays icons from the Girne area. The bell tower of the church was added twenty five years after the construction of the church in 1860 and is visible all over Girne.
At present, this place functions as a museum where icons from the 18th and 19th centuries are showcased, which have been gathered from various Orthodox churches located in the northern region of Cyprus. The collection features several notable portrayals, such as Saint George battling the Dragon, the execution of John the Baptist, and the Virgin Mary with her child.
