Description
For a true cultural experience and step back in time, go to the round tower in Kyrenia Harbour.
Kyrenia Castle constructed in the seventh century to defend the town against Arab incursions.
The Lusignan's expanded this stronghold, and the round tower was constructed in 1300 using Roman stones that had previously been used. It was connected to other circular towers by a curtain wall that surrounded Kyrenia's growing town.
